Toothpaste As A Mind Suppressant

message-in-a-bottleWell, after the last post you can probably tell that I’ve still got a bit of work to do as far as getting one over on the procrastination. Actually, I’m being unduly harsh on myself, for once.

For the past few weeks I’ve been busy doing stuff. Now, I freely admit that some of that stuff has involved watching 20 hours of Forbrydelsen (The Killing) over 3 days but I’ve been doing other things too.

Last month I decided to return to the gym, after a 4 or 5 year holiday. In actual fact I went one further, I have a Personal Trainer who I work with once a week. I’m hoping that it’s not just my bank balance that sees a reduction in pounds.

I’m also, finally, going for swimming lessons. If I ever get on this holiday by the sea I keep telling myself I’ll book at least I’ll have something else to do other than eat, drink and fall asleep.

As if that weren’t enough activity I’ve also started an archery course. I had my first lesson last week and I really enjoyed it. Robin Hood doesn’t have to worry just yet but with a bit of luck and practise I’ll be able to hit the bullseye on demand rather than by luck.

smartphone-with-broken-glassOf course it hasn’t all been plain sailing, on Friday I managed to lose my phone. Yes, there was alcohol involved, large quantities if my depleted bank account is anything to go by.

This is actually the first time I’ve lost my phone in 15 years but I’m surprisingly relaxed about it; that may be because it gives me just the excuse I need to spend hours looking online to see what I’ll replace it with.

Sadly I can’t afford to buy another HTC One, which is a great little handset but at £500 it’s just a bit more than I want to spend however the Google Nexus 4 is looking good, it seems to be great value for money at £279 for the 16Gb version.

Authorised LeakageIf you’re curious to know what the title of this post is all about, it’s a line from the opening track on a new EP from Neil Sanford and Tony Lobue aka Earth Leakage Trip. The EP is entitled Authorised Leakage and you can buy a copy from the Nexgen Music site in either MP3 or WAV format for under a fiver.

The EP is certainly different, not quite drum n bass but hovering around that region.  The label calls it Space Step, I can see why they call it that and I imagine it’d be a trippy experience if you were to listen to it whilst under the influence of some of that organic tobacco substitute I gather people, other than politicians, inhale.

To really understand what I mean you need to listen to it and so, with no further ado I give you Time for Disclosure by Earth Leakage Trip featuring Dreddmarc, let me know what you think.
