Blah Blah Blah

So this is Christmas and what have you done?

Of course I wasn’t the first to pen that line, a little Scouse git called John Lennon got there first but still, the sentiment stands.  What have you done during 2008? I’ve just come from the kitchen where I was giving that question some thought as I prepared, cooked and ate my meal;  a 2 onion chilli.  Technically speaking it’s a 2 onion, 2 capsicum, can of  kidney beans, can of tomatoes, can of condensed soup and a shitload of chilli with a glass of red wine chilli but for ease of reference I call it my 2 onion chilli :)

As 2008 draws to a close I ponder on what has gone, what might have been and what I hope for the year ahead, pretty much the usual I guess except I’m not sure what is what…2008 has been a year of mixed emotions, my grandmother died and with her went the closest thing I had to a mother.  With every loss is a gain and I met my younger sister who I hadn’t seen since I was 12.  I have to admit, I’m not the worlds best at keeping in contact at the best of times and with family it’s probably worse so you can imagine what it’s like with relatively unknown family, still…I’ve spoken to her more this year that I have with my mother so it’s a friendship on the way.

Work is blah… relationships are blah… and life in general is blah…so what is there to talk about? The year ahead I guess, 2009…the final frontier…yadda yadda yadda.  This year for Christmas I visited William and Cleeve which meant I get to watch some TV…Jeez-us… it’s soul destroying!  I think the highlight was watching Family Guy at 3am and that says a lot!

OK, that’s me.  I have to go and drum up some emotion to think of enough to say before 2008 closes and 2009 begins, new years resolutions and all that jazz, not that I have anything in mind, quite possibly I’ll do a search on Google if I can be bothered and steal someone else’s :)
